The Art of Light Workshop
Join Scott Stramyk for this ONE DAY WORKSHOP on understanding, seeing and creating with light.
This hands-on, detailed workshop will help guide you to unlocking that fire within to explore the theory of working with light, technical introductions to photographic lighting equipment and how to use light to tell a story.
Experience a live shooting demonstration where Scott will walk you through how he approaches a shoot and the thought process behind capturing powerful emotive images of portraits and strikingly produced product photography.
The session will explore the use of available light, Constant LED, Strobe and mixed lighting depending on the desired effect required for the shot.
If you consider yourself a natural light photographer… If you only shoot at certain times of the day because that is when the good light is… or you cringe when you are asked to shoot an event in a warehouse at night, this is the perfect course for you. Let Scott take the struggle out of understanding your camera’s flash and demystify the world of artificial light.
We will be going through all things lighting.
Ambient, Natural and artificial lighting.
The difference between Speedlite, Flash, LED and mixed lighting.
How to get the best results whether you are after natural lighting or specific creative lighting effects.
We will discuss all the secrets of manipulating light to provide you with the best photographic outcome that will have your subjects in awe and wishing they booked you sooner!

Do I have to have an understanding of photography or be at a certain level of photography to partake in this program?
This workshop is dedicated to keen photographers that want to explore the world of lighting.
This workshop is aimed at photographers that know how to adjust their camera settings while in manual mode.
There is no requirement to understand lighting, that is what this workshop is all about! Giving you all the knowledge and understanding of seeing light, using and manipulating it for your creative output.

About your Mentor:
Scott Stramyk is an Australian Travel and Lifestyle photographer, educator & photography tour host. He’s well known within the photography industry for his dedication and energy to share his passion for photography and travel. With over 12 years in the photography industry, Scott has openly imparted his knowledge as a Canon Ambassador by running education and training for professionals, retailers, education institutions and the general public.
With close to 1000 workshops and tours under his belt, Scott’s calm and patient persona when providing instruction and coaching has cultivated a community of keen enthusiasts and professional photographers alike.
Scott, along with two other established and well-known photographers; Jay Collier & Greg Sullavan, has assembled a community initiative called Photographers Collective.
